Orange County Blues FC players and staff were excited to welcome a special guest to Friday’s training session, legendary footballer & coach Frans Hoek. Hoek is currently the goalkeeping & assistant coach at Manchester United FC under manager Louis Van Gaal, and was excited to come to Orange County to work with one of the top teams in USL.
The former Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bayern Munich & Dutch National Team coach observed training and met with the squad after to impart his advice and wisdom from his years of playing and coaching at the top professional level.
“I’m impressed with what kind of progress the Orange County Blues FC organization has made this year. I hope to see and welcome them to be among the best in the USL,” remarked Hoek after the training session.
OC Blues FC hits the road Wednesday to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at 6 p.m. PT. The Blues return home Saturday, June 27th vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. PT.
