Las Vegas (May 4, 2018) – Veteran international boys coach Wayne Attard has joined Albion SC Las Vegas bringing with him the two highest certifications in in soccer – UEFA PRO and UEFA ELITE YOUTH A licenses.
He comes to Las Vegas from his immediate past position as Head Coach of the Malta U19 National Boys Team and has spent the past 11 years coaching, training and scouting some of the best young international players in the world.
Attard joins club founders Etienne Barbara and Amanda Schmutz as Senior Director of Coaching on the boys side giving Albion the only trio of “A” licensed DOC’s in Nevada. The club is living up to its promise of one year ago to create the best coaching and training environment possible for its kids.
“The opportunity to join Etienne and Amanda – and all of the staff really – at Albion was so attractive that I moved my family halfway around the world to be here,” said Attard. “This club has a tremendous combination of vision and leadership – both from a soccer and business perspective. Along with my wife and two sons we feel that we have found our soccer family. I’ve coached all over Europe and am thrilled that Albion is open to some of the systems and ideas that I bring to the table.”
“Wayne brings a very unique set of skills and training methods to our club that no one else in town has,” said Barbara. “As we said one year ago – we are building our club in the best soccer traditions. The addition of Wayne’s international experience and educational certification is living up to that promise. When he is on the field you know you are watching something special.”
Founded only one year ago Albion SC Las Vegas has become one of the most respected and competitive clubs in the southwest with 34 club teams and over 600 junior players. The Club has won championships in 4 states including Surf Cup, Mayors Cup, Arsenal Challenge, Players Showcase, Vegas Cup, Desert Premier League, and Nevada State Cup. Albions 06 Girls Academy team has been ranked #1 in the country for this entire season.
Amanda Schmutz has this to say about the addition of Attard to the Albion staff, “Coaches with the combination of Wayne’s technical ability, coaching success and love of the game are truly rare. Although Wayne’s focus will be the boys side – someone of his stature and ability has an effect throughout the club.”
Albion SC Las Vegas is affiliated with Albion SC, the nationally recognized elite San Diego Club that connects the club with the US Development Academy and Arsenal FC of the English Premier League.
“The quality growth that Etienne and Amanda have fostered so quickly in Las Vegas demonstrates that they are doing things the right way,” said Noah Gins, Albion SC Founder. “Wayne Attard is a tremendous addition to their already strong staff.”
