Key qualities of a great soccer player

Join soccerloco, SoccerNation, Presidio and CalSouth and the 1st Annual Presidio TOPSoccer Festival on Saturday June 3rd from 10:00am-12:00pm at Westview High School!

Attendance and participation is free for everyone and lunch will be served to all.

TOPSoccer is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with any type of disability. TOPSoccer takes kids from the sidelines to participating on the field. Athletes will be partnered with a trained buddy who will work with them on soccer skills. All ages are welcome!  Training sessions will be grouped by ability, not age, so that all players will be with others who have similar abilities.

Players with special needs from all over Southern California are invited to take part in this special day filled with soccer and fun. Soccer helps players develop a sense of belonging to a community, learn the value of being part of a team and it will improve self-esteem, fitness and social skills. Please join us to see what San Diego TOPSoccer clubs have to offer our special needs community.

Festival will Include: Fun Soccer Activities, Lunch, Water games, DJ, Snow Cones, Inflatable Soccer Field, Face Painting, T-shirts, Goodies bags, and Medals for all and more.  San Diego SeaLions, San Diego Sockers and Tijuana Xolos will all be there to train with the players. Autograph session for all in attendance. A silent auction will take place beginning at 9:00am at the field.

Thank you to Presidio Soccer League, Cal South, San Diego Soccer Club and Valley Center TOPSoccer, Soccerloco, Kona Ice, Professional Face Painters, Inc., 35 Productions, and 067 Eatery and Wilson Trophy for hosting and sponsoring this event!

This TOPSoccer Buddy Training is a one hour introductory course to prepare volunteers to work with players with disabilities.  This course guides the TOPSoccer Buddy in providing a fun growth experience for soccer players with disabilities. A Buddy is paired with one youth athlete to assist with his/her soccer experience.  You will work with the coach to determine the Buddy’s role on the field, guide the player physically, if necessary, on the field, encourage the player verbally, work towards the goal of player independence, provide positive encouragement to the player, and help to ensure a safe and fun experience for the player.

***YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 12 YEARS OF AGE TO ATTEND THIS COURSE***

Buddies should wear comfortable running shoes and athletics attire. Buddies should bring drinking water.
