The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) is the largest soccer-specific coaches’ association in the world. Originally founded in 1941, the NSCAA serves its 32,000+ members at every level of the game. The NSCAA specializes in educating and stimulating coaches in order to empower them to turn around and educate their own players and other members of the soccer community.
One of the ways the NSCAA engages and educates its members is through an annual convention hosted in alternating cities around the nation. Typically held in the second week of January, the convention has grown to encompass coaching clinics and educational panels, the MLS and NWSL college drafts, referee licensing and certification courses, networking events, and a large soccer-specific trade show in which 375+ companies including soccerloco come to display their products and services. The convention is open to all and membership in the Association is free. If you’re planning on attending the event as a vendor and would like to set up for the trade show, you can do so by contacting the event organizers. A booth will be provided where you can easily set up and start interacting with attendees. It’s recommended that you bring props that easily distinguish your brand, like banner stands for example. Companies like Trade Show Booth can help you prepare for your booth debut.
In 2017, Los Angeles will host the NSCAA Convention. The convention provides and ideal forum for education, career development and networking, and business of soccer opportunities for members of all ages and backgrounds. There are hundreds of sessions offered over the 5 day convention that include an array of diplomas and certifications for coaches. Additionally, the convention serves as an ideal location for both employers and job seekers to connect. There are programs to equip attendees with resume writing, negotiation and other pertinent career development skills.
The soccerloco booth, located at the heart of the convention, is best described as an island of enlightenment in a sea of soccer sweetness. CEO John Lococo has big plans for this event.
“We’re going big this year,” Lococo said. “It’s in our backyard and we want to make sure people come, enjoy themselves, learn something about us, and ultimately leave LA feeling just as positive about the growth of the game as we do.”
For soccerloco, ‘going big’ can mean any number of things. The family owned and operated company is entering its 20th year and has gone from strength to strength over the course of the last two decades. The company has been the title sponsor for the prestigious soccerloco Surf Cup for years, helping to elevate the nation’s top youth players to prominence. Many of the players who walk through the gates at the “Best of the Best” tournament have gone on to play professionally in MLS or the NWSL.
The MLS and NWSL drafts are also held during the course of the NSCAA Convention and give a glimpse into the business of soccer at the highest level, and the exhibitors hall is a one stop shop for all team needs. Various companies with specialization in equipment, apparel, tournaments, and even insurance come prepared to grow their business and establish new relationships with other industry leaders.
Registration is now open for the 2017 convention and you can reserve your place now to join soccerloco and thousands of other individuals and entities at what promises to be the best NSCAA Convention to date!
