Francis Atuahene’s brace propelled San Diego Loyal SC to the club’s first USL Championship win. SD Loyal defeated Tacoma Defiance in an empty stadium, 2-1. Due to COVID19 concerns, SD Loyal and Tacoma defiance played in front of essential personnel only.

GOAL LOYAL! 31st minute

Tacoma Defiance tied the game in the 56th minute. The stalemate only lasted 19 minutes, however. Atuahene buried a perfectly weighted cross from Charlie Adams in the 85th minute to give SD Loyal the lead.

First Win! Home match on March 14th postponed until July

This was SD Loyal’s first win. The Locals will have to wait to welcome the team home, though. Due to COVID19 concerns and working alongside USD, SD Loyal has postponed the next home game. SD Loyal will host the Rio Grand Valley Toros on July 29th.
