The 2016 USL season is right around the corner, and the league revealed the full regular season schedule on Tuesday. For the local USL teams, LA Galaxy II and Orange County Blues, their respective 30-game slates await.

Galaxy II began their preseason preparations this week, with the Blues scheduled to get training camp underway next week. Both teams are coming off their best ever seasons, with the Blues winning the Western Conference regular season title and Galaxy II winning the Western Conference crown in the playoffs, narrowly losing to the Rochester Rhinos in the 2015 USL title game.

Can these teams match or surpass their 2015 seasons? Time will tell, but there’s plenty of soccer to be played in the meantime, including four match-ups between the two teams during the season (April 8 and July 2 in Carson, July 30 and Aug. 20 in Irvine).

Both teams kick off proceedings on Saturday, March 26, with both teams playing at home, LA against Arizona United SC at the Stub Hub Center Track and Field Stadium in Carson and the Blues against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Anteater Stadium in Irvine. The season runs through the end of September, with both sides once again wrapping up proceedings at home, with the Blues hosting Colorado Springs Switchbacks and Galaxy II facing Real Monarchs SLC, both on Sept. 24.

You can find LA Galaxy II’s full 2016 schedule here, and the OC Blues’ full schedule here.

Given the nature of Southern California, there’s always plenty to do and plenty of soccer to see, but you could do far worse than watching two of last season’s best teams in their league play pro soccer live at a reasonable price.
