The next chapter of Nike Mercurial Vapor Flyknit has arrived bringing a lighter, stronger upper to keep you light and locked in.
Nike’s Mercurial Vapor Flyknit Ultra arrives in two bold colorways, one is a smoky shadowy black and silver and the other arrives with bold brush of metallic gold tinge on top of a black body on the side and a gold-metallic sole plate. Worn exclusively by Chelsea FC’s Eden Hazard, the Metallic Gold Flyknit Ultra is the latest evolution of the Mercurial family.
“The Mercurial is part of my family. I’ve played my whole career in the Mercurial, that’s maybe 14 years in the same boot. I’ve always been comfortable in the Mercurial, it gives me confidence, it’s fast and I’ve won a lot of trophies wearing the boots.” – Eden Hazard
An understated ‘Flyknit Ultra’ logo is embossed on the outsole of the model, which is the first all-Flyknit low-cut Mercurial cleat. The heel tab shows a ‘Mercurial’ writing alongside the Italian flag.
The black and gold Nike Flyknit Ultra football boots have a one-piece Flyknit upper with a low-cut construction and horizontal ridges, similar to Mercurial Vapor 11 and Superfly 5. The boot sits on the outsole known from the current version of the Mercurial, which includes mostly chevron-shaped studs.
Other new features include a one-piece Flyknit upper with textured speed ribs, 3D Speed Plate, embossed speed ribs provide ball awareness and control, and Nike Grip system to keep foot from slipping inside the boot.
“From that day, I started playing with them on the pitches in my neighborhood and in my club, Braine-le-Comte,” Hazard recalls. “Before that, I didn’t have football boots. And since then, more or less, I have been wearing Mercurial.”
Leave your opponents in the dust with explosive speed. The Nike Mercurial Vapor Flyknit Ultra is here, featuring reimagined Nike Flyknit technology to help you lock in and let fly.
Only 4,000 pairs were made worldwide of this first wave of the Mercurial Flyknit Ultra, but sit tight. In 2018 Nike will be including this elite cleat in additional colors and quantities.
