Del Mar Carmel Valley Sharks Elite kicked off their 2015 US Youth Soccer National Championship tournament with a bang. In their first game, DMCV Sharks Elite played Beading Gunners from Pittsburg on July 21. The game kicked off at 1:30 pm and in the 12th minute, DMCV’s midfielder Angelina Mayweather scored a show-stopping goal to take the lead for the team. The first half came to a close with a score of 1-0. Things really heated up in the second half and a 2nd goal was scored in the 63rd minute of the game by midfielder Shelby Lee. In the 74th minute, Franzisca Komar scored a third goal to give DMCV a commanding lead. In the last minutes before the end of the game, Shelby Lee scored a fourth goal. The game ended 4-0 and showed the competition that DMCV is a force to be reckoned with.
In their second game that took place on Wednesday, July 22, DMCV played against 97 Louisiana Fire Navy and also achieved another shutout with the score of 2-0. Their third game against Carlsbad Elite yesterday proved successful yet again with another shutout with the score of 1-0. Good luck girls on your next game and keep up the good work!
