Seize the opportunity to help your community! Coronado SC is seeking volunteer coaches for Boys and Girls U8 and U10 recreational teams.  Coronado SC relies on volunteer coaches to help coach the many teams they organize.  It is required for all volunteer coaches to complete a background check via LIVESCAN (CYSL will cover the cost of this background check).  Have no coaching experience?  CYSL has resources to help you prepare, a clinic for coaches is offered at the start of each season to assist you in your coaching efforts.  If interested in being a Recreational U8 or U10 coach, contact Cindi Gehler, the Director of Rec,  at [email protected] or 619-997-1885.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Coaching a team is a commitment and requires time and effort to support your team for a whole season.
  • Practices times and length will be determined by, you, the coach.
  • Practices should be 45-50 minutes and scheduled during the weekdays.
  • Games will be held on Saturdays.

If you aren’t able to make this time commitment other opportunities are available.  Coronado SC offers a “one-time” volunteer program.  Here are the available positions and time needed to complete the task:

  • Equipment Assembly – 2 hours
  • Equipment Distribution (at beginning of season) – 2 hours
  • Equipment Collection  (at end of season) – 2 hours
  • Assemble Rosters in binders for coaches – 2 hours
  • Uniforms (pick up/verify quantities/assembly in team bags) – 3 hours
  • Picture Day Form distribution to coaches – 3 hours
  • Distribution of Picture Packets to coaches on game day – 3 hours
