Two weeks since kicking off the 2018 National Premier Soccer League season, ASC San Diego takes to the field for its second game this Saturday, April 7th at 5:00pm at Mission Bay High School in beautiful Pacific Beach.

ASC played a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first game of the season against an FC Arizona team that is known for both offensive firepower and defensive stability.

The fans who came out that day were treated to an attacking feast and should expect more fireworks when ASC hosts Riverside Coras. Coras is a team full of quick and dynamic players who like to play on the front foot.

“We are a new team getting to know each other but moving forward we have the talent to compete for the league. I see promise in my guys, I see positive things and I see that hunger,” said Coras Head Coach Gabriel Esqueda.

Having drawn and lost its opening two games, Coras comes to San Diego looking for its first victory against an ASC side that is also in search of its first three points. The two-week layoff from games has given ASC Head Coach Ziggy Korytoski ample time to prepare for a match up that has always had a competitive edge. Last year these two teams split the series, each taking three points at home.

Cushioning the competitive atmosphere will be ASC’s dedication to charity. The club has partnered with Rady’s Children’s Hospital to donate $1.00 from every ticket sold. Club partner Classy has committed to matching the donation from ASC.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.

“We have players signed like Eric Avila and this is huge for San Diego. The upcoming match will be a battle of two very organized teams,” said ASC CEO Noah Gins. “It will be a game with a lot more meaning than just two teams competing. It should prove to be a very entertaining matchup, especially as we are being linked to a move to Division 2 in 2018.”

ASC San Diego have never hidden the fact that the club desires to compete at the highest possible level that it can. While the ambition burns as brightly as ever, the immediate challenge begins on Saturday at 5:00pm at Mission Bay Stadium.
