This past weekend marks our 16th straight year that our club has participated in the annual soccerloco Surf Cup and as tradition would have it, we had four of our academy teams accepted to participate (B10, B11, B12 & B13).
After the first two days of the tournament were completed three of our four teams advanced to the semi-finals on Monday (B10, B11, B12). The B11’s eventually lost in a heartbreaking double overtime thriller however it was a huge success for a team having to deal with recent defections that left them short handed two days prior to the tournament. A true testament to the committed parents and kids as well as to coach willie for pushing through this temporary setback.
However, the B10 & B12 teams both won their semi-final matches advancing to the finals where both of them were crowned champions winning in convincing fashion by defeating their opponents 5-0 & 3-0 respectively.
Congrats to all four teams, coaches and parents for their commitment and support as we could not have accomplished any of it without you. A special congratulations goes out to Coach Willie (B10, B11) and to Coach Geo (B12, B13) for a great weekend of soccer and for representing TFA to the highest standards.
