All of the politics around professional soccer in San Diego can take a back seat this weekend.
There’s great soccer to be found in San Diego, with passionate (bordering on insane) supporters, and it’s right in the middle of San Diego this Saturday night.
AND, it’s FREE!
Local legend says that years ago a wealthy soccer-crazy San Diego State University alum made an impressive donation to SDSU with the specific instructions that ALL SDSU soccer games are free and open to the public.
SDSU Men’s Soccer hosts Army West Point for their home opener Saturday, Sept 1 at 7pm at the SDSU Sports Deck.
Follow Aztec Men’s Soccer on Twitter and Instagram.
Be one of the first 250 through the gates Saturday night, and score yourself some sweet free sunglasses, too!
If you know anything about SDSU sports, you know about “The Show” — SDSU’s fanatic student section at sporting events.
THE SHOW will be out in force at Saturday night’s game. As the name suggests, they are a show all on their own. In addition to amazing NCAA soccer, the atmosphere is bound to be energetic and entertaining.
Arrive early to grab some of those sunglasses, and here’s a handy tip:
Save yourself the LONG WAIT at the ONLY parking pass vending machine under the Sports Deck. Download the “Pay by Phone” app and pay for your parking without waiting in that line. Seriously: You’ll thank me for this as you walk past all of those people waiting in line to pay for parking!
PAY BY PHONE iPhone app here. There’s an android app as well.
Parking for the Sports Deck is Lot 7 on SDSU’s campus, at the corner of Montezuma & 55th street.
Inside the Pay by Phone app, the lot code is 28507. (2 hours for $6.35, and you can easily extend from inside the app if you need to)
