Soccerloco and SoccerNation are proud to announce Richard Nightingale as the newest member of the team.

Nightingale has been a part of the soccer world for decades. He has built relationships with a vast network of soccer executives, corporations, celebrities, and local grass-roots organizations.

Based in Florida but operating nationwide and internationally, Nightingale will be working with Soccerloco and SoccerNation to enhance the experience of everyone who walks through the doors of Soccerloco retail stores, shops online at Soccerloco.com, and reads SoccerNation.

The Submarine Commander

Over the years, Nightingale somehow earned himself the nickname “The Submarine Commander” because he always surfaces somewhere. Since he has surfaced at SoccerNation, I asked him to give SoccerNation readers an introduction.

Without further ado, here’s Richard Nightingale…

I’m Richard Nightingale and I’ve been kicking a ball around, watching Soccer since the dawn of time. My earliest memories of watching Soccer are standing next to my father, Brian Nightingale on the terraces at Molineux, the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the days of the old English First Division. Wolves are now back in the EPL and thriving after many years in the wilderness.

130 years of Molineux.

Born in England, I did play D1 soccer at University of Portland in Oregon but was never good enough to make money on the field. I have instead worked for over twenty-five years in the business of sport.

General Manager of two great Soccer brands, Nike and Umbro. An executive with two of the world’s leading sports retailers: Sports Direct International and Fanatics. Oh, and also along the way, was President of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL.

Met some real characters, icons of the game and been privileged to be present for many great soccer moments. My posts and commentary will be focussed on the business and culture of the ‘Beautiful Game’. Interviews and articles that get behind the scenes, bringing you the story behind the story about Players, Coaches, Clubs and Organizations on a local, national and international level. All levels of the game. I hope you enjoy the read, the insight and maybe, even crack a smile once in a while.

It’s great to have you on the roster, Richard! Let’s go!
