What is Rush REACH?

After 4 long weeks, finally Colorado Rush returns back home and will try to look to carry momentum from the commanding win over Indios Denver last weekend, and use it to take down the only other unbeaten team in the Colorado UPSL conference, Colorado Springs FC.

This past week has been an exciting one for Rush. They have silently crept up the standings and is now sitting 1 point out of first place in the Colorado UPSL conference and have a chance to jump into 1st this weekend with a win. In addition, with some major shake ups this past weekend, for the first time in team history Rush made it into the top 10 National Power rankings sitting at 9.

This should make out to be a very exciting match up this weekend as both of these teams come in with offenses that are burning red hot. Rush was able to notch 7 goals in their last match up, while Springs FC put up 4 of their own and completely shut down Club El Azul, current conference leader, and sent them packing with a shut out. With 11 goals between the two clubs in their last match, the goal keepers have been put on notice which could turn into a very busy weekend for each of them.

Moving pieces around and changing their formation last week proved to be the answer in finding their stride. If Rush can get Andrew White and Danny Woolliscroft into space again this weekend and allow them to use their speed to create chances, it will be a long weekend for the Springs FC defense. Having Colin Clark available for the full match this week will also be a nice shot of nitrous into the Rush offense as he was only available for the second half last week. Ryan Crowley will also be available this week which adds another horse to the already stout Rush offense.

Rush Captain Hartman is still battling a hammy injury but was able to put in a full 90 minutes last week and looked in good form.  With some other injuries Rush is going to their Academy, bringing up Ryan Wilson who is a center back and could be a key piece in the back line. Rush keeper Shailer Thomas is coming off of a fantastic game last week and even though the 7-2 score line suggests that he wasn’t very busy, he came up with 3 key saves that allowed Rush to keep pushing offensively. He will be leaned on to help shut down the Springs FC offense and keep the game close.

This should be a high paced match with two teams that both want to stay unbeaten in the conference and have zero issues finding the back of the net in recent games. Rush comes in with a strong roster this week and will go hunting to remain the final unbeaten team in the conference. Kickoff for this match is at 4pm on April 9th at Shea Stadium.
