After the two big victories against Netherlands and Germany, it seems like all is well with the U.S. fan base for the Men’s National Team. Their next game will be against Guatemala in Nashville, Tennessee on July 3rd and the ticket sales are surprisingly high with over 25,000 tickets sold already.
All of this energy and excitement from the fans that are going to the stadium to watch the match will most likely break records for attendance in a Tennessee match. The latest record happened in 2011 when the U.S. played against Paraguay with 29,059 attendees.
This will be the last match in preparation for the U.S. before the 2015 Gold Cup starts. Their first game in the Gold Cup tournament will be on July 7th in Texas against Honduras. Also in their group (Group A), there are Haiti and Panama, which the U.S. will play against on July 10th and July 13th respectively.
The last time that U.S. and Guatemala played was in July of 2013, which was also the last preparation game for the Gold Cup that year. The match ended with a victory of 6-0 for the U.S.
The Yanks are coming off 4 straight positive results: a win against Germany, a win against Netherlands, a win against Mexico and a tie against Switzerland. The last two matches were probably the most unexpected wins for the U.S. in the last couple of years. For all of the fans watching those two games, it sure did create excitement with this U.S. squad that brings quality and skillful players.
