There are 16 teams participating in the Cerebral Palsy Football World Championship. The U.S. PNT played yesterday in Staffordshire, England against Venezuela and won 3-0 in their first World Championship game. They still have to play Brazil and Scotland which are also in the same group.

The Americans scored the three goals in the first half with Kevin Hensley scoring twice, and Bruce Boardman getting the third goal.
This tournament is very important, as it is the main qualifier for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In order for the U.S. to make to Brazil, they need at least 6 points throughout the first three games.
There are 6 Californian players on this team: Shea Cassidy from Buena Park, David Rose from Santa Barbara, David Garca from Chula Vista, Marthell Vazquez from Long Beach, Dylan Brown from Clovis, and Rene Renteria from San Fernando.
Next game will be on June 19th against Scotland, and after that against Brazil on June 21st. All of the matches are played at the same stadium in Staffordshire, England and they will be streamed live at: http://www.cp2015.com/.
