From a comparison perspective, the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final between Barcelona and Manchester United drew only 2.6 million viewers, which brings the U.S. game to a 73% increase.
The U.S. vs. Sweden game peaked from 9:30 to 9:45 pm EST with 6.4 million viewers, being the 4th most-watched women’s soccer match ever, which is a 36% increase compared with the previous game that featured U.S. vs. Australia.
