Second round action for the Women’s College Cup kicks off tonight with two California schools in action. Below are previews for tonight’s matches.

NOTE: Winning teams from these two games will play each other on November 21 in Stanford. 

#3 Stanford vs BYU
at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium (Stanford) 7:00 p.m. PT | Watch Live

First Round Recap:
Stanford defeated San Jose State, 2-0, on an own goal and a 43rd-minute goal from freshman Averie Collins.

BYU defeated Utah Valley State, 1-0, on a 21st-minute goal from Elena Medeiros.

Second Round Preview:
BYU will be looking for revenge and an upset on Thursday night at Laird Q. Stadium. On September 7th of this season, Stanford defeated BYU, 1-0, on a goal from Jordan DiBiasi. Since then, BYU has posted a 13-1-2 record while Stanford has gone 13-2-1. Defense will be key for both sides as BYU allowed just 7 goals all year, whereas Stanford conceded just 11 goals.

First Round Recap:
Santa Clara defeated Long Beach State, 1-0, on a goal from Grace Cutler.

Arizona defeated Northern Colorado, 2-0, on goals from Jessica Nelson and Sheaffer Skadsen.

Second Round Preview:
These two teams will square off for the second time this season. On August 23, Arizona defeated Santa Clara by a score of 2-1, on goals from Gabi Stoian and Cece Bilginer. Santa Clara, who is on a five-match unbeaten streak will look to overcome Arizona, who are especially dangerous from set-pieces. Arizona has allowed 24 goals this year in 20 matches, while Santa Clara conceded just 13 goals all year.
