Los Angeles Football Club’s (LAFC) dreams of building a new stadium took a massive step towards reality on Friday.
The LA City Council unanimously approved the Final Environmental Impact Report along with other environmental and entitlement agreements for LAFC.
The bottom line is that these approvals give LAFC consent to take possession of the site where they plan to build their new stadium and adjacent buildings which will house new restaurants, office space, conference center, and a soccer museum.
The demolition of the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena will take place this summer with plans to have the new stadium ready for LAFC’s inaugural season in 2018.
